Phaedrus, thanks for mentioning the shortstack ninja video by sheets. Didn't watch it until now, am halfway through with it and it's great!

NP Sir, I in return must thank you for once again reminding me of Annette_15. I started watching some of her tournaments but then got side tracked. I'm back to watching them now :D

Watching that $3 rebuy now. Pretty funny indeed!
Jesus, it says on PXF I have watched that hand history 6 times.
I need new stuff from her. That reminds me of getting a creditcard (yes, I don't have one and never had one so far) so I can try out PokerVT.

This is still OrangeM discussion, so I am basically of the opinion that any open push can only be deemed a marginal play at worst. I always consider pushing in Orange.

A bit late to this thread but I'll experiment with this on the 25c and $1 45/90 seats on Pokerstars.

Very pleased with my first result. I was card dead and not hitting any flops throughout the whole 90 seater but managed a 6th place, while never dropping below 10BBs. We all know it's difficult to outplay fish down this side of spectrum so not having to play them post flop helps.

Since this has been recently bumped, and it's been awhile... how is the pushing thing working for you?

I've been doing far better than I used to with small-ball play, as opposed to shoving. I just hate leaving a tourney because I pushed unnecessarily. I dislike putting myself at the mercy of luck, and prefer it when I still have choices. Then again, I am not much of a gambler. I have to push myself to push. (However, some of my regular opponents would not believe this.)

Yes, I've pushed when not super SS, and yes, it sometimes works out well. When it doesn't, though, I wonder what I was thinking....

i just read through the thread, great post.

great strategy to use at times, yes you are playing bingo poker...with some sense though,
i was tired of being on the bottom and waiting for a monster most of the time.

nice to use on the MTT $1 tables, too timid to move up yet.

Hey guys,

Been watching a few of Coop's video's on PFX. (The free ones) :D Do you guys recommend this site? I feel like Marty owes me $150 for joining RPT. I joined Real Poker Training to get his 5 Pack and I have learned something, but not much. They haven't put up a new Video in MONTHS! I think Marty's 5Pack is way better than 90% of the videos on their site. I mean how much action are you going to get if you only play 10-AA AQ AK? Fold to 3BB and then HOPE you get ONE caller and HOLD!

Anyway a little gun shy about joining another Poker Training site. Any thougts and thanks!

RPT seems to be sputtering out, sorry to say. I am looking for a new affiliation at present, but the investment used for RPT still gives you access to hundreds of videos that have already been posted. They aren't doing anything new, but that doesn't mean you should not look at what is already there. And once is prob not enough.

Anyway, not sure where you are in your BR building, but that should be a qualification for investing any more right now. Those 2 resources, plus this forum should be help enough for at least a little while.

Thanks Marty,

Please look for another training site promote. IMO advertising David Williams and others when they aren't even there anymore is FALSE ADVERTISING! Ryan sounds high all the time, and my one year subscription to Bluff magazing never came either. I don't think anyone signing up is happy after 2 weeks at their site!

Just saying, the $150 investment was my birthday present from the wife and I shoulda done more resarch. (my fault)

Coop wrote:You are very wrong with this. I mean, somehow experience translates to skill, but it's still not the same. I agree about Moneymaker and Yang most likely having no skill advantage over me, but IMO they are actually pretty bad.
But let's consider the following line-up and make it a winner takes all so ICM doesn't apply: Annette_15, lilholdem954, Rizen, Negreanu, Laak, Elky, Harman, Harrington, Brenes and me. The more deepstacked this game will be, the worse my results longterm will be. Yes, I might win it. I might even win it twice in a row. But longterm given the set of skills I have now they would beat the s.hit out of me. I guarantee you that!
